Naspers aims to conquer Africa with mobile price comparison model

After switching horses in mid-race in Kenya and Nigeria in July (general classifieds portal Dealfish was discarded for OLX), Naspers now announced it was saddling another horse, which it’ll send into a different race in Nigeria in November. PriceCheck Wants To Be The Prevailing Mobile Shopping Destination in Africa, Says GM

Last month, we broke the news that MIH Internet was planning to launch its price comparison service, PriceCheck in Nigeria, but what we didn’t know was when and how the service would be launched.

Andre de Wet, General Manager at PriceCheck has confirmed to me in an email that they were indeed launching the service in late November, although ‘very low key’ with a handful of stores.

Naspers/MIH Internet, the company behind Dealfish Nigeria, is planning to launch a new site called PriceCheck in Nigeria. The site will offer Nigeria’s online users services including comparison of commodity prices.
